Shenglan Tan graduated from Peking University with a double Bachelor degree in Chinese Literature and Sociology. She earned her Master of Education degree in Human Development and Psychology at Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). She currently serves as the project manager at the HGSE XMedia Lab. She manages storytelling projects and conducts research to explore cultural differences in understanding youth’s struggle and reducing social exclusion.

For the Nankai Project, she was closely involved in the design of an interactive website and creation of the educators’ resource guide- both were very well received.. She is always on the lookout for humanistic stories, and coordinates the collaboration with school and theatre to promote youth’s social awareness and English language learning.
