**In April 2025, the X-Media team wrapped up our second innovation project funded by the US Library of Congress through the TPS East Region grant program.** It provided the Harvard X-Media Lab the opportunity to continue expanding the cross-media methodology by incorporating a research-based assessment model, extend use of primary source analytics, conduct a new workshops and develop new educator resources. **The US Library of Congress has awarded a new grant to the Harvard X-Media Lab** to expand upon the cross-media methodology using primary sources and to design new workshops and educator resources. **Research Professor Robert L. Selman and Susan Johnson McCabe co-authored A "Cross Media" Model to Deepen Aesthetic, Ethical, and Academic Understanding,** a working draft chapter on using the tripartite method of analysis (aesthetic, academic and ethical) in the context of enhanced access through streaming media today. *Abridged version* under eview for publication by the Oxford Press (June, 2023)

**Research Professor Robert L. **Research Professor Robert L. Selman and Randy Testa co-authored** ***“***[**What is a Teacher without Stories?” Teaching with Cross-Media Stories to Deepen Professional Ethos**](https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/bfm:978-3-030-73644-6/1.pdf)**.** This chapter appears in *The International Handbook of Teacher Ethos: Strengthening Teachers, Supporting Learners*, edited by the late Fritz Oser, a leading light in the field of moral development and former HGSE Fellow.(September, 2021).

**The HGSE Professional Education recently added a new course,** [***Deeper Than Edutainment***](https://www.gse.harvard.edu/ppe/program/deeper-edutainment-taking-books-and-their-film-adaptations-seriously)***.***  to the [*Certificate in Media and Technology for Education*](https://www.gse.harvard.edu/ppe/certificate-media-and-technology-education)  program. It was developed in collaboration with the X-Media Lab and focuses on the pedagogy/best practices of using cross media for deeper learning (May, 2021)
